This one is practically effortless, but it tastes like magic. A block of cream cheese, a spoonful of pepper jelly, and crackers on the side — that’s it. It’s a viral Southern favorite for a reason: sweet, a little spicy, and creamy… it’s the perfect trifecta.

Written Tutorial
You'll need:
- 8 ounce softened block of cream cheese
- Jar of your favorite pepper jelly
- Crackers
Popular pepper jelly varieties include:
🌶️ Mild Sweet Pepper Jelly: More sweet than spicy. Sugar and vinegar give them that classic glossy finish and gentle tang, making them perfect for guests who prefer a softer heat. Often come in red or green colors.
🔥 Jalapeño Jelly: A familiar favorite with a moderate kick. Jalapeño jelly adds just enough spice to wake up the cream cheese without overwhelming it.
🍑 Fruit‑Infused Pepper Jelly: These blends pair bright fruit with peppers for a sweet‑heat balance that feels playful and versatile. Popular combinations include raspberry jalapeño, pineapple habanero, and mango habanero.
Prepare appetizer!
- Unwrap an 8 ounce block of room‑temperature cream cheese. Place it on a small plate or serving dish.
- Warm your pepper jelly in the microwave for about 15–20 seconds until it’s pourable. Spoon the pepper jelly over the top of the cream cheese. There is no right or wrong amount to spoon on top! I typically use at least half of a 10.5oz jar, but another friend of mine prefers to use the entire jar.
- Serve with crackers.
